Julianne Johnston:  nació el 1 de Mayo de 1900   en Indianápolis, Indiana,  - † - el ? - ? - 1988.

 Mas adelante  su familia se mudó a Hollywood, donde tomó lecciones de baile en la Escuela Denishawn y actuó en el Hollywood Community Theatre durante dos años. 

Comenzó su carrera como bailarina solista y realizó una gira con Ruth St. Denis durante las vacaciones de verano de la escuela.

En 1924, fue seleccionada para ser una WAMPAS Baby Star.

Douglas Fairbanks vio a Johnston bailar en un teatro antes del estreno de su película Robin Hood , y esta exposición resultó en que la contratara para ser la protagonista principal de El ladrón de Bagdad , con Anna May Wong en 1924. El mismo año, estaba en el yate Oneida de William Randolph Hearst durante el fin de semana de noviembre de 1924 cuando el director de cine y productor Thomas Ince murió más tarde de aparente insuficiencia cardíaca (existen muchas teorías de conspiración sobre la muerte de Ince).

Julianne Johnston se retiró de la actuación en 1934.

Vida personal: 

Johnston se casó con David W. Rust y vivieron en Detroit, Michigan. Tuvieron dos hijos, Peggy Rust Johnson y David Wendell Rust. Johnston perdió a su marido de 62 años y a su hijo de 29 en el espacio de seis años.

Murió en Grosse Pointe, Michigan , a la edad de 88 años. Sus restos fueron enterrados en el cementerio Woodlawn de Detroit.
